Unlike older port-injection engines where fuel naturally washes the valves clean, GDI engines have nothing cleaning those surfaces. Modern high-pressure common rail (HPCR) diesel engines operate at fuel pressures exceeding 30,000 PSI. At these pressures, even small deposits inside fuel injectors cause major performance and efficiency problems. BG 245 dissolves and removes deposits from the entire diesel injection system — fuel injectors, combustion chambers, and fuel pumps — and lubricates injectors to protect them from premature wear caused by today's ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel. It also contains a cetane improver for better combustion efficiency. Safe for diesel particulate filters and catalytic converters.
